Dr Jessica Mazzagatti – Veterinary Surgeon

“Hi, I’m Dr. Jess!

I’ve always had a deep love for animals and a strong desire to care for others, which naturally led me to a career in veterinary medicine. That passion guided me through a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, where I developed a solid understanding of biology and the connections between mind, body, and behaviour. I then pursued my veterinarian career to the United Kingdom, where I earned my Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2020.

After graduating, I moved to Queensland’s Fraser Coast region, where I worked as a mixed animal vet with a focus on small animals. In 2022, I relocated to the Gold Coast to pursue a growing interest in equine practice. While I enjoyed working with large animals, I found myself increasingly drawn to a more holistic approach to care – supporting not just pets, but their people and communities as well. This passion led me to join the Pet Wellness Centre in 2024.

At the Pet Wellness Centre, I feel fortunate to be part of a team that’s genuinely committed to wellness, connection, and community. I love building strong, lasting relationships with my clients and their pets. While I care for all animals, I have a special soft spot for my geriatric patients and enjoy the thoughtfulness their care often requires. I appreciate the variety and challenge of general practice, and the opportunity it gives me to make a meaningful impact each day.

When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll find me spending time with my family, cuddling my three-legged cat Luci, enjoying a movie, heading out on a camping trip, or training at the boxing gym. Originally from the east coast of the U.S., I’m also a passionate traveler who enjoys discovering new places and experiences.

I’m so grateful to be part of the Pet Wellness Centre team and look forward to meeting you and your beloved pets!”
